It's hard to knock a game for being average, but that's just what "Lost Planet 3" is. It has its moments, and it's a playable and mostly entertaining experience, but it's by no means a must-play game.

The original Lost Planet (LP) was a relatively early (Dec '06) title for this nearly-over console generation. Developed exclusively for the Xbox 360 at launch, Inafune's third person action-adventure wasn't perfect, but it was pretty damn cool nonetheless.

Ginx:Despite a frosty critical reception, the Lost Planet series was a financial flop. Wait a second, that doesn't sound right... Nope, that's actually right. No love, nor money neither. Huh. Well, that makes even the existence of Lost Planet 3 quite a surprise then. Did Capcom not say everything there was about snow and guns and mediocrity in the last two games? Apparently not, and in fact, this one looks a bit different. It looks good. It actually looks really good. But can it be for real?

Replacing Vital Suits for lumbering maintenance mechs was an awful choice, but the lack of decent boss fights robs the series of its core pleasure. The great characters enable the game to provide an interesting story, but its drowned out by mercilessly dull action.
